How to play Bubble Letters
The rules
- The field is full of coloured bubbles. Some of them carry a letter of a secret word.
- Shoot a bubble from the launcher at the bottom. It flies straight, bounces off the side walls, and sticks where it touches another bubble or the top.
- Three or more touching bubbles of one colour pop. Bubbles that no longer hang from the top fall.
- A letter bubble that pops or falls reveals its letter. Reveal every letter to win.
- After every few shots a new row comes down. Don’t let the bubbles cross the dashed line.
How to play here
- Drag or move the pointer on the field to aim: dots show the path and where the bubble will stick. Release to shoot.
- The button under the field shows the next bubble. Tap it to swap the two bubbles. Swapping is free.
- Keyboard: the left and right arrows aim (hold Shift for small steps), Space, Enter or the up arrow shoots, and the down arrow or S swaps.
- Each colour also has its own white symbol, so you can tell the bubbles apart without colour.
Endless
The Endless tab plays a chain of secret words. When you finish a word, the letters of the next one come down on the new rows. Score points for every bubble that pops or falls, for every letter, and a bonus for every word. The game ends when a bubble crosses the line. Your best score is kept on this device.

Tips
- A letter does not have to pop: pop the bubbles above it and it falls with everything below.
- Use the walls. A bank shot reaches gaps that a straight shot can’t.
- Swap when the next bubble fits better. A colour that fits nowhere is best parked away from the letters.
FAQ
- How do I reveal a letter?
- Some bubbles carry a letter. Pop that bubble with two or more of its colour, or pop the bubbles it hangs from so that it falls. Either way the letter shows in its place above the field.
- When do I lose?
- Every few shots a new row of bubbles comes down from the top. If a bubble reaches the dashed line at the bottom, the game is over.
- Can every daily be won?
- Every daily is checked before you see it: a computer player shoots it through to the end and wins. The new rows are the same for everyone who plays that day.
- Is there a new puzzle every day?
- Yes. A new Bubble Letters is published every day at each of the four levels: easy, medium, hard and expert. Earlier puzzles are in the archive.
- Do I need an account to play?
- No. You play right in your browser, with no sign-up and no cookies. Your progress is saved in your browser.
